Micro Actuator

The Actuators 2000aodm micro and 2000aomc micro are BRANSON's new micro ultrasonic actuators. They operate with BRANSON's 40 kHz power supplies of the series 2000dt or 2000mc net. These systems offer multiple welding modes including distance (collapse and absolute), time, energy, energy compensation, and peak power welding modes. In addition, the system 2000aomc/aomc net features proportional valve system as well as Data Acquisition, which enables custom-designed settings and storage of welding data.

Both systems include Branson's patented Amplitude Stepping. Different operating methods are valuable for applications, which demand ambitious process control and high weld quality.

  • The Ultrasonic Power Supply 2000dt includes a Touch Screen Interface which provides new features and enhanced user friendliness for easier setup, navigation, operation, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
  • The network-compatible Ultrasonic System 2000mc net feature data capture, which saves the data of every welding process immediately as a file and displays it in graphic form.
  • The micro actuator is designed for use in semi-automated or fully automated environments. The actuator may be mounted directly on a machine frame or with a fixed support on a column and hub.

Key actuator features

  • Narrow width - measuring 66 mm allows the 2000aodm actuator to fit in very small spaces.
  • Internal linear optical encoder measures weld distance enabling welding by specific part collapse (meltdown), or welding to a finished part height (absolute)
  • A force transducer provides digital setting of the Dynamic Trigger and allows the user to print out force data and graphs for performance evaluation and troubleshooting.
  • Pressure transducer accurately monitors and displays air pressure and allows accurate and repeatable setting of weld force.
  • Converter cooling - Cooling air is directed into the converter during each operating cycle.
  • The 38 mm bore air cylinder provides better control of clamp force on low force applications.
  • Calibratable pressure gauge
  • "Horn down"-function enables ease of horn/ fixture alignment.
